Okay people. So I'm torn between two series here. I have been obsessed with doing this lately and I don't know why. Someone says a word and I make up a funny sentence to remember how to spell it. This ultimately started when laura and I were on VFK and we had a really big sugar rush. We were at the time obsessed with the word chalupa but VFK wouldn't allow the word. So we wrote "read caps" (capital letters) and wrote Check Happy And Laugh Under Piano Affects, thus spelling our word. So I will give you some examples and then you have to solve the ones that do with halloween. Good Luck!

p.s. the sentence doesn't have to do with the word, but if you make it so it does, i will give extra points! When you read, you will notice the first two poems I did had nothing to do with the word, but the last one does. Just to give you some examples.

My Not-the-best-idea kind of moment

So when dad picked me and Nick up today, he offered for us to go for "a nice little walk in the woods". I obliged, thinking it couldn't hurt. Well, after we finished doing the geocache, (if you don't know what that is, go to geocaching.com) we had to cross a stream (of course, it was a tad deeper and wider than I would constitute as a stream, it was more like a mini river.). None of us liked the other's ideas about how to cross it, so we all tried our own. Nick shuffled across a fallen down log, which I decided against due to the fact that my clutz-y ness would probably have me soaked from head to toe in a matter of seconds. Dad hopped across a small line of slippery rocks, which again, I would be underwater in two blinks of an eye. My way still got me wet, but at least that was because of my control. I rolled up my jeans, removed my shoes, and grabbed a stray stick for balance. Then I slowly stepped into the ice cold river. Carefully grasping me stick and my shoes, I waded deeper and deeper into the area I thought was the shallowest. Wow, I thought, good thing it's not winter! Man, I tell you, I thought my feet were gonna fall off by the time I dropped my stick, paused for a photo, and scurried up the bank! P.S. click the photo to get a better look at it!

Summary:

It's 2018, and for the past 6 years, the government has been seriously discussing living in space. They have finally decided it is time to scope out some guinea pigs. 10 people are chosen from every state in America, going through a series of physical and mental potential tests to determine if they will be able to hold out in the conditions of space. They are each given a token for a house, a car, and certain amount of Oaks, the currency of Oaklyn city. They have developed a completely self-contained society inside a space enabled structure. They will float around Neptune, where the government has decided will be the best place. Everything is ready to go. Now all they need is to go. The story is told by thirteen year old Saige, who unhappy with her orphan life, runs off to the recruiting center for the space project, hoping to find someone who will adopt her and take her up into space where her sad life can't find her again. Lucky for her, Aerika Beldyn wants a daughter. They go up to live in space, both happy when their new start, but bad things start to happen, and there is nothing to stop them...

The Return of the Mini Series!!!

Okay, don't get your hopes up too high. Although many readers were mad about me stopping "Another's Eyes", my mini series, there really was nothing I could do about it. My stupid computer still doesn't let me post stuff about my mini series. I don't really get it, either. I can post just about anything else in the world I want except chapters of "Another's Eyes". So I am starting a new mini series, a story that I have not already written! "Another's Eyes" was a story that was already written and stuffed away in a drawer in my room. My new series is one that I will be writing as I go. There will be a new installment every weekend on Sunday except the occasional time that I'm camping or something, I will post the installment early.

There is an extra twist to this mini series though, you (my readers) are an active part of the story! Every Saturday I will start a new poll in the top section of the column on the right hand side of the page. You must vote to determine what will happen on the next installment the next day. If no one votes, I will decide. Have fun reading my new series, which will be called In Neptune's Shadow. Today will be the first installment.

Scoring the series will be different!

You will not automatically win credit for doing one challenge. You will win credit for doing loops. GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, AND WELCOME, TO THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 2008 FALL CHALLENGE SERIES! RIGHT HERE, ON THE HADLEY PRESS! THIS WILL BE A CHALLENGE SERIES OF PUZZLES AND GAMES, THINKING AND SEARCHING, HARD AND EASY, AND OF COURSE... FUNNNN!!!!!!

It's here! The beginning of a brand new string of brain busting, goofball, stupid easy, funny, and every other kind of challenge you can think of. It's different this time around though. My challenges last time were just random things, not similar in any way. This time, I will have mini loops (that's what I call em'). They are mini series of challenges, all linked in some way. I will label the challenges L1;9. That means "LOOP #1, CHALLENGE #9" as the loop you're in is 1, but it's the ninth challenge in that loop. It may get confusing, but don't worry.

Words can't describe this irritation...

I never thought such a thing was possible... I was reading Breaking Dawn and playing with a penny I had found. I went to turn the page of the book, and dropped my penny. It landed on it's edge, precariously perched in just the right posistion. I laughed, and showed dad and Nick. I had created a monster! Nick and I practiced for about half an hour. The highest anyone got was 15 pennies! FIFTEEN! But dad pointed out that the grooves on the placemat were probably holding the penny's poisition. He stated that it was most likely impossible to do it on the polished table surface. Sure enough, Nick and I proved him wrong. After Nick got his fifteen pennies, he gave up, but I wanted to prove I could make twenty. I made twenty...then fourty...then sixty... Dad was amazed! We all were. Everything was dead quite while I concentrated. When they had to pass the table, often some pennies fell. In fact, once Nick knocked 21 of my pennies. I managed to get them back up though. We had to eat lunch in the kitchen because I didn't want to make the table shake. I was finally at eighty after lunch. Just one more row and I would have 100!!!!!! Nick, being very careless, stomped across the dining room without thinking and BAM!!! All 80 pennies went tumbling to the floor. FOUR HOURS OF WORK FOR NOTHING!!!!!! Needless to say, I'm still not really talking to him...

The first photo is my eighty successful pennies, and the other is after Nick's egghead event, the third is looking down the row of pennies when I first started, this shows how the pennies are perched.

So here's the funniest story ever :P

We crossed into New York, and there was this sign that said: CANADA ONE MILE. So we decided to just go see the Canadian border. We drove until we passed a section of giant orange cones. WE figured it was roadwork or something, so dad kept driving. We passed a large brick building with toll-like booths in front of it. We thought nothing of it, and kept driving. Suddenly, dad said "Um, I think we just passed customs." (Customs are the people that patrol the border so no illegal aliens get in other countries) He turned around and made a mad dash back to American soil... or so we thought. We couldn't get through until we dealed with the customs dude at the booth. Dad pulled up and was like "Uh, Hi, I was just heading towards the Canadian border, and I realized I'd gone to far, so I spun around and it was just a mistake." The customs guy gave him this really stern look and he went "Oh, I see. Can I please have some ID." Now, the conversation had only gotten two sentences in and I was already completely mortified. Dad handed him his drivers license and he took it will the stern look still tight on his face. "Who's in the back with you there?" He asked. "My daughter." Dad answered obidiently. "and this your son?" Dad nodded. The customs officer entered dad's license info in the computer, searching for things, in case dad was like a psycho freak mass murderer or something @_@. The whole time dad kept explaing "These guys just wanted to see the border, it was a simple mistake." He would say, gesturing to me and Nick. (Thanks Dad, blame it on us) The customs guy gave dad back his ID, and asked him questions like, "where ya comin' from?" and "Where ya headed?" and finally he said "Have a nice day" and we drove off. For the whole rest of vacation, we joked that I should have talked like a mexican when he asked who was in the back. That would not have been good. And, as it turned out, we didn't even make it to Canada, the dude who gave us a hard time was really US customs, so we really had no reason for trouble, since we didn't even make it out of America. But, needless to say, every time dad screwed up, Nick and I jokingly threatened to call customs on him. He was certainly the laughing stock of the trip. LOL

I never thought it would happen, but I am falling into the clutches of the series that is sweeping the nation. Now, if my best friend Laura is reading this, she's probably already figured out what I'm talking about. Today I went to the bookstore and was allowed one book. I was overwhelmed by the amount of books towering above my head. I looked up and down the tall shelves as I wandered through the endless aisles. I had picked up a couple books I was interested in and starting walking away to discuss my options with my dad. As I was leaving the aisle a familiar cover caught my eye... the new Stephanie Meyer book called Breaking Dawn. I turned and without another glance started back on my path. I started to think, Laura had raved about those books for as long as they had been around. She had loaned me the first one, but I had become uninterested and basically stopped at chapter four. I barely remembered anything about it and figured looking at the back cover wouldn't hurt anyone. I read the back cover, then the first couple pages. I was still not impressed and i began to walk away again. Soon the story began to sink in. That two minutes I spent with Twilight convinced me that I needed to read that series. Ten minutes later I was walking out of the store with the first book of the Twilight series. You need to read it!

Magic and Artemis

Well, since I just posted about Emma, my new puppy, I might as well post about the kitties. I meant to post about them when I got them, but I forgot...

Magic: Magic is my cat. She is White with gray and orange patches. She has tiger stripes going through her colored patches. (We believe one of her parents was a tiger and the other a calico) She is very playful. She, unlike Artemis, is friendly around strangers, but friendly to only people of her choice in our family.

Artemis: She is my brother's cat. Her and Magic are sisters. She is completely tiger, not calico and tiger like magic. She is super timid around unfamiliar people but super friendly with our family. She is lazy and likes to nap.

They are both about four months old. We got them at 10 weeks. :) I will again post pictures tomorrow.

I got a dog! Her name is Emma and she is a two year old rescue puppy who is a cross between a border collie and a black lab. She is absolutely attached to me! I can't go anywhere in the house without her following me :) I will post pictures tomorrow. She used to be my neighbor's son's dog, but she is afraid of men (they believe she was abused by one or in a puppy mill run by a man) so he couldn't keep her. She was too scared of him. So we got her! I love her! Above are pictures of a border collie and a black lab. She got the black lab coat, tail, and ears (short black fur and floppyish ears with curvy tail) but the border collie body and personality (try to picture that, then see how close you came when I post the pictures tomorrow) . She is getting used to my brother, though she is scared of him too.

Bonjour! Hola! Konichiwa! This challenge involves three different languages!!! But... The Catch is... none of the languages are english!! I will give you a sentence in either french, spanish, or the mystery language. You have to tell me what language it is, and what it says. To count the challenge, at the end you must tell me what the mystery language is. So if you translate the sentence in french or spanish and it doesn't work, you know it's in the mystery language. Then you must figure out what the mystery language is. GOOD LUCK! By the way, since this is just the way different languages work, when you translate the text, a few words may be mixed up. I will only count it as correct if you put it back the right way. For example if it comes out the dog brown jumped over the fence tall, you have to re type it as the brown dog jumped over the tall fence. Oh and by the way, you can only use online language translators.

Now before I do this challenge, I want to give full credit for this idea to Emily from runandtellthisandthat. i am basically completely copying her idea and I will absolutely not take credit for that.

PLAN MY DREAM VACATION! Now, some things are different in my challenge. Unlike Emily's, you need to do more things. you need to:

1: Book my flight* (*don't actually BOOK it, just insert the information for the flight on Travelocity and tell me the price of the hotel)

Try this then, instead of using the application on the website to create a character, use your brain! give me three paragraphs about a boy character, and then one about a girl character. I will post an example later. first paragraph should have details of their life - where they live, how old they are, their lifestyle (are they rich, dirt poor??), if they have a job, what their job is etc.

Second paragraph should be about what they look like. are they tall, skinny , thin, chubby , have brown hair? etc. You need to go into as much detail as you possibly can. Do they have crooked teeth? a mole? floppy ears? It doesn't matter! just have details! Try this out. do all three paragraphs for EACH person! Good Luck!

The Land Of No Channels

So, my mom had to cut down on our cable, except she got us the littlest package ever!!! Here are my options for daytime television... Bob the Builder, Jewelry television, The news, and Spanish soap operas (btw, sooo many people have told me that I should watch the soap operas, but I hate soap operas - especially in a language I barely understand!!) So it looks like for the summer, I am stuck in the land of no channels. I know you'd think I'm gonna be here for a long time but I will have to make sure that doesn't happen because on september 22 the season 3 premiere of my favorite show (Heroes!!!) is coming on NBC and although my brother says we have it,I have been through all 23 (yes, 23 is the number of channels my TV now posesses) channels and not one of them is NBC so if I don't get to see my premiere I will go insane!! I am absolutely obsessed with Heroes. For example my dad got season one on DVD for Christmas last year and I have managed to watch the entire season at least 18 times sice then (Do, not worry, I do not watch the entire season in one day, I usually watch one episode a night right before I go to sleep!! :P)

Next was she got to completely take over her mother's design studio and design anything she wanted for her party - outfit, party suite, shoes, present table... ANYTHING! Do you want an extra challenge!!! Well here's a cool one! Find your happy place. Not an imaginary one like the land of gumdrops, but a real place you have visited in the past. My happy place is a beach like area in Stratham (Strat-am) it is a reserve with trails that lead to this little beach place. It has a rock path with gorgeous rocks that you can sit on and look out at the water. The sand is the softest I ever felt and when it's in between your toes it's heaven. I was there when the sun was going down and the sunset over the water was unreal. I later dicovered that that was ocean water that ran from a tributary off the ocean. Another's Eyes (installment #1)

Here's the first installment of the mini series that follows 15-year old Isabelle Hart on her miraculous adventure as she mysteriously transforms into Hayden Wood.

I sat up in bed, my eyes still half closed. My alarm was going off on my bedside table and I reluctantly pushed the snooze button as I let out a huge yawn. I could here my mom coming up the main stairwell. Something told me she was coming to wake me up, so I rolled over in bed, hoping to get if even a second of more sleep in. I was not even back under the covers before I heard her open the door and shuffle over to the bed in her designer slippers. She sat down on the edge and rubbed my back gently. "Isabelle, honey, time to wake up." I wasn't ready to yet so I continued to be silent. My mother is not the most patient woman, though. "Isabelle Briana Hart, you better open those eyelids!" I groaned, then sat up in bed. She was beaming. "What are you so happy about?" I questioned. "Your father called." Just this part was a surprise to me because my father is the famous movie star Aidan Lucas Hart and I almost never see or hear from him. My mother continued with her happy speech. "He told me your two presents from us to you for your sweet 16 and he told me I could tell you them now and that you would be wicked excited and that you could start designing today and that if you could send the plans to his hotel suite at least a week before the party he could have it there in time for your special entrance and maybe he could even drop it off personally and stay for the week so he could go to your party but he could only do this if the cast managed to shot the final scenes of his new movie "Calico" in time for him to see to it that your presents are done and that they are on their way before he buys his ticket and gets on the plane and hires the crew for your second present and books the bands for the party and if time permitted, he would be waiting on your sweet sixteen red carpet when you arrived to give you a personal birthday kiss on the cheek."

I sat, wide-eyed and with my jaw dropped as she gasped for breath. I was not only amazed at the news, but more amazed that she managed to say that in one breath. After finding out my presents, I got dressed and headed downstairs to mom's designing studio (she's a fashion designer) so I could get cracking.

Have you heard about Canada's seal slaughter? They club poor baby seals for their skins and worse yet... for fun. This absolutely horrifies me! Does anyone have a heart? I recently got a traveling email called "Seal or no seal?" It explains how these people go out and just club baby and adult seals to death just for personal enjoyment and gain... mortifying. Just look at that face and ask yourself... Would anyone have the heart to take a club to that poor thing? Also ask yourself - Would I have the heart to do that? If any of you say yes to the second question, then that is sick. Do something. Don't just clam up at the thought of it. Speak up.

I have a bookshelf in my room filled with many unread books. One dreary, rainy, day, I picked up a random book. I basically closed my eyes and pointed. I took out "In the Stone Circle" By Elizabeth Cody Kimmel. My copy didn't have the printed description on the back, so I just had to read. I got addicted, and I read the entire book in one day! I definitely recommend it!

Eggnog??

I really thought there was only one flavor of eggnog... eggnog flavor.

In my local supermarket though, you can buy FOUR DIFFERENT FLAVORS!!!! Can you believe it! I didn't think that was possible. So far I have tried pumpkin eggnog and gingerbread eggnog (seen at right). The other flavor that I can buy is sugar cookie eggnog! Yes, you read it right... SUGAR COOKIE EGGNOG!!!! My favorite is pumpkin, even though gingerbread doesn't taste much different.

Oh well, I think maybe I'll try sugar cookie (!!!) next time. Well if all else fails with these newcomer eggnogs... there is still the original flavor :)

For years and years my mom has only allowed up to two people at my parties. This year, I devised a plan... I came home with well written diagrams,charts, and persuasive arguments. The argument that really caught my mom's attention was that I would work off any debt I got myself into while throwing this party ( food, party favors, etc.) So after calls, plans, more writing, invites and a lot more, I had a list of five of my closest friends ( the ones I wanted at my party ) all on a sheet of paper. All the invitations were written, and a list was posted next to the fridge. The list had each of my friends names on it so if I was away and one of my friends RSVPed, my mom could just check off a name, and then I could check the progress when I got home. Sadly, it was the last day to RSVP and I only had two people saying they could come. My mom went away for the day, and I was at my dad's house, so I pretty much accepted the fact that my party was going to be pretty small. Later on, my mom called me and happily told me the great news, when she had gotten home, there were three messages... all the people had RSVPed!!!! So today is the day of my party, and I plan to have a blast!!

Ok... let me explain. First of all, to clear things up... the Sub-Zero Pooping Hero is NOT me!! LOL

It is a cute little plastic figure of a polar bear. You load jelly beans ( brown jelly beans preferably) into the polar bear, push down on him and PLOP! out come some of the jelly beans, making it look like he pooped. My brother gave this to my dad for Christmas, just as a joke. Now the smiling bear stands proudly atop our kitchen counter. :)

Just because one of my hobbies is cooking doesn't mean I am super fantastic at it! Some nights, when I'm inspired to do so, I will ask one of my parents if I can help them cook. So tonight, I wanted tacos for dinner, so tacos is what I got. I helped mix the meat, onions, seasoning and everything else and then I set the table. Those were my assigned duties as my dad's "sous chef." All that

"hard" work was finally paid off... the tacos were delicious!

New Shows..???

I really am not the kind of person that thinks outside the box... even with the simplest things like tv shows. But my dad got season one of Heros for Christmas, so we decided we would watch one episode together. It is so awesome! I never thought I would ever fid a new show I like, I usually just stick to the same old same. But Heros was so awesome!!! It is a bit scary in some ways, and a little inapropriate for younger kids, but I personally loved it!

Ok, so let's start from the beginning of the story. There is this site called webkinz.com, where you buy a special kind of stuffed animal, enter in the code online, and you unlock a full world of games, money, animals, pets and a ton more! So, when i was in a Hallmark the other day, I decided I wanted a penguin webkinz, so I bought one, and gave it to my brother instead, just being nice. So today, my brother returned the favor and bought me a polar bear webkinz in exchange for the penguin! I was so happy! So even though I thought my webkinz was officially my brother's, I got one anyway!

Resolutions

YEESH!!! Right when you think you can finally settle down after the holiday rush, there comes New Years, waiting right around the bend! So, with New Years coming up right behind me,i assume it's finally time to make my New Years resolutions.

1: I promise to practice my acting twice a day so that I can possibly get a spot in the school play ( unfortunately I didn't make it last time )

2: I promise to be more open minded when making decisions

3: I promise to think outside of the box when getting dressed each and every morning,

perhaps make my outfits more spunky and bubbly.

4: I promise to pick up my room everyday so it WILL NOT GET MESSY ( this may be

hard to keep :( )
